My Summer Favs....

Soo this summer there are a few things that I am beyond loving!  I just thought I would share some of my latest addictions with you guys.

So starting from the top left

1) Steve Madden "Weekender" bag.  This style/size of bag is the perfect fit for summer (or any season).  It has become a staple for me at work (I just have way too many things I haul everyday).  It's perfect for days trips to St. Augustine or a weekend trip top Orlando.

2) M.A.C Lipstick - Any shade of nude.  I will say I have always loved a nude colored lip but this summer I have loved it even more.  I feel back in love with Nude this past Memorial Day weekend while in Las Vegas.  I got my makeup done for my bachelorette party  and I haven't been able to put this color down since then.

3) Candy Crush - HA! I soo know this is not a fashion or beauty find but this game is freaking addicting! The hubby and I can't seem to put this game down.  I mean there have been nights where were both laying around watching tv and playing this game! (you can find it for free in the Android and IPhone App stores).

4) Wedge Sneakers - I know this style of shoes have been out for a while but I am soo loving these this summer.  When I need to make a run to the market or mall these shoe give my look the perfect finish.  I can honestly say prior to this trend the only time I'd be caught in some sneakers would be at the gym!

5) Justin Timberlake's 20/20 Experience - I LOVE this album!  Its got a little of everything on it!  This is my go to album this summer.  A great buy for you music lovers!

This pretty much sums up my most coveted summer favs.

The Boots Were Made for Walking...Fall Boot Trends!!

With the Fall season approaching rapidly I just thought it would be great if I did a post on some of the biggest boot trends for the upcoming season.  I think that everyone should make their way to getting at least on of the styles that are in this season....

The Lace Up
This style of boot is perfect for rocking with a pair of skinny pants or jeans.  You can spice it up by choosing a boot with a print by far one of the sexiest boots styles out.

Riding Boots
While riding boots aren't new to the game they are coming in full swing this season.  Try looking for a two toned riding boot to bring some variety to your collection.  Hunter makes some great leather riding boots. Riding boots are classic and would be a long term addition to your boot collection,

Hiking Boots
These are not your dad's hiking boots!  Spice up this style by choosing a hiking boot with a heel.  These boots can give any casual look a vibrant feel.

Chelsea Boots
These boots are coming back in from it's highest peak the 60's.  So for a really trendy casual look a pair of Chelsea boots will give you just that look.

Wedge Boots
By far one of my favorite style of boots the wedge can take any look to the next level while still providing a ton of comfort and absolute must have!

So there you have it! Equipped with the tools to get your started shopping this fall season!

The Recap: Fashion Rush Miami

So this weekend I was able to attend Fashion Rush in Miami (during Mercedes Benz Fashion Week).  I did a pre-event interview with one of the event organizers Lynsee K. (of LHB) see that post here

Okay on to the fun stuff..

The event took place on Saturday at Bamboo (a club in South Beach Miami, I will do a review on this separately).  Upon walking in I must say I was truly impressed, the venue was absolutely beautiful.  There was a red carpet set up with a backdrop that referenced the events name (Fashion Rush).  As you walked deeper into the venue there was a photo booth (a really great idea) followed by vendors one of which included a cupcake company (see picture below).

The actual fashion show took place in the venues main room which was very modernly decorated...I was a huge fan of the decor within the venue (did I say that already).  There were a total of five designers which did include swimwear (I happened to love these the most, which is probably because it was sooo hot down there)

I actually got a chance to meet with the events organizers Lynsee (of LHB) and she's an awesome chick as well as the events other organizers Bruce and Joe (New Classic Ent.)  I was really impressed with the flow of things especially because this was the first Fashion Rush Event.  The designers were great, it had me ready to revise my swimwear collection but I will let some of the photos speak for that.  Overall the event was great the organizers get an passing grade in my book.

Up next.... Fashion Rush will be in Minneapolis so if your in the area be sure to check it out!

Be sure to check out what I wore to Fashion Rush here

A Pictorial Recap of the event below....

As always...stay beautiful and love fashion :)

The Perfect Summer Day Trip

With Summer here there is nothing like a Day Trip.....you know that trip out to the beach or out to an event that just a little out of the way.  Nothing to make you pack a bag because its close enough to just drive back home.  So what are the essentials for that perfect day trip look?  See below....

* Denim ripped shorts

* Fedora

*Keds (or comfy shoes)

* Tank

* Your favorite pair of sunglasses (Ray-Ban lol)

* A cute set of bracelets

* Cross-body/Messenger style bag (keeping your hands free)

Why this combination is a great choice? Its comfortable, and just about all of these pieces are staple to one's wardrobe.

So the next time your getting ready to go on a day trip be sure to use this as a guide when picking that perfect outfit.

Up Next: Miami Fashion Rush

Guys! Great news...in the next few weeks I will be packing up my bags and heading down to Miami for a fantastic event that I am soo excited about....Fashion Rush.  Prior to me heading down to the M.I.A I have had the pleasure of doing a pre-event interview with Lynsee Birrenkott of LHB Innovation Events, a special events and public relations firm and one of the organizers of the Miami Fashion Rush Event.  Check out the interview below:

Me: Hello Lynsee, to get started can you tell me how long has the Fashion Rush event been hosted?

Lynsee: This is the first year for Fashion Rush, but we're looking to host our next one in Minneapolis followed by Los Angeles and New York City.

Me: Cool...so give me some history on the Fashion Rush event, what made you all decide on Miami?

Lynsee: We actually decided Miami was the perfect launch spot for Fashion Rush because it fuses entertainment, fashion and nightlife with the eclectic crowd that we're looking reach.  It's more of an international city that is the ideal location for our event.  Not to mention, the weather is amazing here!

Me: So what can attendees expect while attending Fashion Rush?

Lynsee: Attendees can expect nothing short of amazing.  I'm kidding.  It will be a great event, however.  We have a wonderful line-up of designers including Meghan Walsh of Blank Silk, who is also the daughter of America's Most Wanted creator John Walsh.  Daymond John, branding guru and investor on Shark Tank is one of our celebrity special guests as well.  There will be multiple runway shows, plenty of light bites and drinks also.  We have a wide range of sponsors backing Fashion Rush, including the Miami Dolphins and COVERGIRL.

Me: So where in Miami will the event be held?

Lynsee: Our launch dinner event will take place at Kitchen 305 at Newport Beachside Hotel in North Miami Beach while our main event and after party will be at Bamboo Miami Beach.  Both venues are gorgeous!

Me: That sounds amazing.  Who are some of the designers that will be featured at Fashion Rush?

Lynsee: This year, we have Blank Silk as I mentioned, Wet Couture swimwear, Burgundy menswear, Betsy Moss RTW, Intyce Swimwear, Segui evening gowns, and a few others.

Me: So where can people go to find out more information about Fashion Rush?

Lynsee: They can visit the event's website: http://www.fashionrushmiami.com/

And that wraps up my interview.  I am so excited about the event.  If any of you are in the area or are in need of a vacation I say pack your bags and join me in Miami for the Fashion Rush event.  As always I will be doing a full recap of the event right here on the blog so stay tuned!

Trend Alert: Crochet

Some of us love it and some of us hate it but one trend you can't deny is Crochet!  Whether it's a dress, a shirt, shorts, or in our accessories one thing is true this trend is definitely the talk of the town this season.

Why it's loved:
* It's prefect for the summer season
* It has a vintage charm so it never really goes "out of style"
* It's hip!

How to rock it:
* As a tunic over a binki
* A dress with some nice sandals for a day in the park
* If pairing it with another material it's best worn with something that is subtle (jeans, etc)

Not quite bold enough to pull off a crochet shirt or dress?  Try wearing some crochet accessories like a necklace or a pair of sandals and you will be well on your way!

The Ultimate Gift Guide: Father's Day Gift Ideas

Image Credit

So with Father's Day approaching I thought it would be nice to do a post on some great gift ideas for all of the Dad's out there.

1) A box of chocolate's - yes I know this seems simple but mom's get chocolate's and so do wives and girlfriends.  What better way to show your dad he is sweet other than giving him a sweet treat.
Image Credit
2) A pair of super sleek designer sunglasses - with this you can pretty much satisfy any dad.  Try getting him a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses.

3) A pair of designer cuff links - This is a nice simple touch to spruce up any dad's wardrobe.

4) A bottle of wine - Yes I did say wine.  A nice bottle of wine can be a great addition to a good evening among friends this could really come in handy for dad if he is a social butterfly.

5) A great book - If the dad your shopping for likes to read you could not go wrong here.

That pretty much sums up my top five gift suggestions.  If none of these ideas suit the dad your shopping for I suggest finding something that represents his interests (if he like the outdoors maybe some new boots, etc.).  I would also suggest making a gift basket with some of his favorite things if you can't decide on one item.

No matter what gift you decide on be sure to top it all off with a card.
